This project expresses the vision
that every person with a disability has a distinct contribution to make to the world. To make this vision reality, we identify each person’s unique preferences and capacities, discover and develop their contributions, and make connections between people and the communities that need their gifts. When this happens, all lives are enriched. Rather than being seen as “different” or “lacking,” people with disabilities then live lives of distinction as people who are respected and admired by others. Lives of distinction need not be extraordinary or grand; instead, they can be lived by “ordinary” people whose individual destinies are supported and who come together to create beauty, connection, and fulfillment with others.
